Check that your workspace is open for AI apps
AI apps are turned on per subscription. If you are not a Docly developer, you can connect an app only to workspaces whose subscription has AI apps turned on.
If your workspace is not open for AI apps, ask the owner of the subscription. They can ask Docly to turn AI apps on.
Add Docly to your AI app
In your AI app, add a custom connector (also called an MCP server) with this address: https://cloud.docly.net/mcp
The app opens the Docly sign-in page. Sign in as usual, with two-factor verification.
Choose what the app can reach
On the next page, choose "One workspace" and pick the workspace, or choose all workspaces that are open for AI apps.
For one workspace, tick the box if the app may change content: edit, create, move and delete. Then choose how long the connection lasts, and click "Allow".
Workspaces that are not open for AI apps are not listed. If none of your workspaces are open, the page says so, and no connection is made.
Approve writing when the app asks
If you chose all workspaces, the app asks before it changes anything in a workspace. It shows you a link: open it, check that the workspace is the one you meant, and approve writing for 1 or 8 hours.
The app can only ask. It can never approve writing by itself.
What the app can do
The app can read, search, edit, create, move and delete documents and folders - only where your own access in Docly allows it.
Publishing, sharing and site code are for Docly developers, and are not available through the app.
See and disconnect your apps
Go to Connected apps in your Docly account. There you see each app, what it can reach and when the connection ends.
Click "Disconnect" to stop an app at once. An app marked "Paused" is bound to a workspace where AI apps are no longer turned on. It works again if they are turned back on.
