Sign in with a passkey
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, your face or your device PIN instead of typing a password. Each passkey belongs to one device, such as your phone or your laptop.
Updated: 21.10.2026 20:07 Add a passkey
Go to Security in your Docly account. Under Passkeys, click "Add passkey" and follow what your device asks you to do.
Add one passkey on each device you sign in from. A device that already has a passkey for your account cannot add another one.
Sign in with the passkey
On the sign-in page, click "Sign in with a passkey". You do not type your e-mail address: your device shows the passkeys it has, and you confirm with your fingerprint, face or PIN.
If it does not work, sign in with your password as before.
Decide whether a passkey counts as two-factor verification
A passkey already proves two things: your device, and your fingerprint, face or PIN. If you have two-factor verification (2FA) turned on, you therefore do not get a code after a passkey.
Under Security, "Sign-in with a passkey", choose "Also ask for a code" if you want the code as well. Going back to "Counts as 2FA" asks you to confirm that it is really you.
If your organization requires a code after a passkey, the choice is locked. And if a sign-in looks unusual, for example from a country we do not recognize, we always ask for a code.
Rename or remove a passkey
Under "Your passkeys" you see each passkey, when it was added and when it was last used. Give it a name that tells you which device it is.
Remove passkeys for devices you no longer use. Removing a passkey asks you to confirm that it is really you, with your password or a code.
